The Hermit™ red blend was inspired by French wine history when Bordeaux vintners blended their wines with Syrah from the Rhône Valley for added strength, a practice known as hermitagé.
We use traditional techniques to highlight the South Okanagan’s ideal temperate, semi-desert climate for this unconventional blend. The fruit was destemmed into stainless steel fermenters, left to soak on their skins, and pumped over daily. Post-ferment, the young wine spent nine months in 60% French oak, with the remainder in stainless steel vats, until bottling on April 9th, 2022. 312 cases produced.
